Before 2020, Santa Teresa Children’s Clinic strove to provide pediatric patients and their families in New Mexico with primary care. The Clinic’s goal was to keep children healthy through preventive visits, the delivery of routine vaccinations, the diagnosis of conditions, and other applications.
When COVID-19 arose, the proactive, pro-child, and progressive organization became more focused on providing high-quality, easily accessible telehealth medical care options to its populations, especially those living in rural communities. However, the Clinic needed a partner to make a difference in the lives of young people — and that’s where a relationship with AMD Global Telemedicine and their reseller partner Solutionz proved to be a game-changer.
Marin Telehealth is a nonprofit organization created by Doctor Marin for the purpose of providing medical care to the New Mexico rural school districts and the surrounding community. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of children and the community by providing quality health care in an environment built on knowledge, innovation and honesty.
Telehealth, also known as tele medicine, is a way for us to perform full medical exams, diagnosis and treatments for the patient, without forcing the patient or the family to travel and miss school and work.
Tanya Marín, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC explains the effects of changes that have been made to some laws which raise the costs of some health services.
Dr. Marin states that, due to this situation, many workers prefer to make teleconsultations or move out of state to practice their profession, but with less expense.

We would like to congratulate Dr. Tanya V Marin for her recent accomplishment. Dr Marin has recently completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice. Although her title has changed to Dr Marin, she is still a Nationally Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Tanya Marin is among dozens of trained nurse practitioners that New Mexico, a state without a pay-to-play requirement, has been able to steal away from Texas.
