Mayedel San Jose is a proud Filipina American who began her nursing career in New Jersey as a licensed practical nurse in 2005. She continued her education, and in 2007 earned her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ. Shortly after moving to El Paso, Texas, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2010.

Since the start of her career, she has been serving her local communities by working in a variety of patient care settings including sub-acute, assisted living, and long-term ventilator units. She also enjoys volunteering at community health events. She then entered the acute care hospital setting and worked in units including Medical-Surgical/Renal, intermediate care, and perioperative units.

In February 2016, she received her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and completed her post graduate certificate for Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). She successfully passed the American Nurses Credentialing Center board certification examination in March 2016.

As an FNP, she has experience in peripheral vascular disease, primary care, hospitalist, and aesthetics.

In 2022, Mayedel was selected for the Paso del Norte Health Foundation Graduate Fellows Program award for Academic Excellence and Leadership. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice program at The University of Texas at El Paso May of 2023.

She currently runs her practice, San Jose Wellness Center, out of Santa Teresa, NM. She also provides concierge medicine and hospitalist services in the neighboring city of El Paso, Texas.

Dr. San Jose is excited to combine her prior experiences with her newfound knowledge to improve her practice as a Nurse Practitioner and play her part in elevating the quality of healthcare on the border.
