The new version of a house call! Telehealth and telemedicine just means that you can have a visit with the doctor, or care provider, using your telephone, tablet, computer - or any device that allows for two-way video communication.
Sometimes parents of children schedule wellness exams with one of our care providers but prefer to stay home. We have learned to use the power of technology to adjust to these requests.
Can my doctor really examine me using a video?
Some people have felt that a doctor can not properly examine a patient using a video. However, We can examine our patients very similarly to having them in our pediatric clinic. We will take temperatures and discuss symptoms. Dr. Marin (DNP) will ask a series of questions to determine whether lab work needs to be ordered or if a prescription needs to be ordered.
Will my visit be covered by my insurance?
Recently, there are government efforts to expand on access to telehealth and telemedicine because of COVID 19 (corona virus). This means that the government started to push all private insurances, as well as medicaid, to financially cover telehealth and telemedicine visits. Please call our office or send us a chat online to get more information about this. Insurance co-pays vary but we offer payment plans, and, what's more, we work with all of our families to make sure that they put their health foot forward. *We will not turn you away - we will work with you.
